Steady-state conditions were achieved after approximately 12 hours and maintained for a further 35 hours. During the steady-state period, liquid hydrocarbon recovery represented approximately 86% of the mass of polypropylene fed to the reactor. Approximately 85% of the recovered liquid consisted of hydrocarbons with carbon numbers of C20 and below.
The campaign also demonstrated that steady-state conditions could be re-established within approximately two hours following intentional changes to operating conditions.
