BB BlackBerry Limited

BlackBerry Beats Big and Raises Again on Record QNX Results, but a One-Time License and a Secure Communications Cut Complicate the Picture

BlackBerry delivered a decisive beat for its fiscal second quarter. Adjusted earnings of $0.07 per share topped both the $0.04 consensus and the $0.04 Earnings Whisper number by 75.0%, and earnings grew 75.0% year over year. Revenue of $163.3 million beat the $143.0 million consensus by 14.2% and rose 26.0%, up from $152.9 million in the first quarter. Management also raised full-year guidance for the second straight quarter. The central tension is that BlackBerry is now two businesses moving in opposite directions. QNX is accelerating and landing the largest wins in its history. Secure Communications stalled badly enough to force a guidance cut, and a non-recurring licensing deal flattered the quarter's headline.

SFIX Stitch Fix, Inc.

Stitch Fix Beats on the Bottom Line but Guides FY27 to Flat-to-Down Revenue as Client Losses and Rising Acquisition Costs Break the Turnaround Narrative

Stitch Fix closed fiscal 2026 with a narrower-than-expected loss of $0.01 per share against a consensus estimate of -$0.06, an 83.3% beat, with earnings growing 85.7% year over year as the prior-year fourth-quarter loss of $0.07 per share shrank to almost nothing. Revenue of $324.42 million rose 4.2% but landed 0.2% short of the $324.97 million consensus. That combination — a clean bottom-line beat paired with a revenue nick and, far more importantly, a fiscal 2027 outlook below estimates — is the quarter in miniature. The profitability story remains intact. The growth story, which management had been building for three straight quarters, just cracked.

NEOV NeoVolta Inc.

NeoVolta's Revenue Essentially Vanished in Q4 — But the SK On Deal and a $53M Binding Reservation Rewrote the 2027 Story

NeoVolta reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $0.24 per share on revenue of $13,460 — not millions, thousands — against a consensus estimate of -$0.10 per share and $1.38 million in revenue. The company missed consensus earnings by 140.0% and revenue by 99.1%. Earnings fell 380.0% year over year and revenue fell 99.7%. There is no way to soften that: the legacy operating business effectively went to zero in the June quarter, and the sequential path tells the story bluntly — $4.6 million in the second quarter, roughly $2 million in the third, and essentially nothing in the fourth. Full-year revenue of $13.3 million, up 58% from $8.4 million, was earned almost entirely in the first nine months. That is the central tension of this report: the reported quarter was a collapse, while the forward-looking pipeline improved more in the past three months than in the company's entire history.

CTAS Cintas Corporation

Cintas Posts Record Margins and Its First $3 Billion Quarter — But a Thin Beat and a Borrowed Workday Complicate the Setup

Cintas delivered fiscal first-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.39 per share on revenue of $3.014 billion, topping the $1.35 consensus and edging past the $1.38 Earnings Whisper for a 0.7% surprise. Revenue beat the $2.97 billion estimate by 1.5%, grew 10.9% year over year, and crossed $3 billion for the first time in company history. Earnings grew 15.8%. On the surface this is exactly what Cintas shareholders pay a premium multiple for: accelerating organic growth, record profitability, and a guidance raise one quarter into the year. The complication is that the beat itself was narrow, the raise landed in line with what the Street already modeled, and a measurable slice of the quarter's outperformance came from a calendar quirk that reverses later in the year.

PAYX Paychex, Inc.

Paychex Misses the Whisper by a Penny as PEO Momentum Accelerates — and Management Solutions Quietly Slows

Paychex opened fiscal 2027 with adjusted earnings of $1.34 per share on revenue of $1.631 billion for the August quarter. That edged past the $1.33 consensus but fell short of the $1.35 Earnings Whisper number, producing a 0.7% miss against expectations, while revenue beat the $1.62 billion consensus by 0.6%. Earnings grew 9.8% year over year and revenue grew 5.9%. On the surface this is a routine Paychex quarter: a penny-level result against a high bar, double-digit GAAP EPS growth, and a reaffirmed full-year earnings outlook. Beneath it, the quarter is more interesting than the headline, because the composition of growth is shifting in a way that makes the reported numbers look worse than the underlying business.

GIS General Mills, Inc.

General Mills Beats on a Shrinking Base: Consumption and Share Are Improving, but Inflation and Pet Are Getting Worse

General Mills opened fiscal 2027 with a modest beat on both lines — adjusted EPS of $0.75 versus the $0.72 consensus and a $0.74 Earnings Whisper, a 1.4% surprise, on revenue of $4.39 billion that also topped estimates by 1.4%. But the beat sits on top of declining absolute results: earnings fell 12.8% year over year and revenue fell 2.8%. Organic net sales were flat, adjusted operating profit fell 11% in constant currency, and adjusted operating margin compressed 130 basis points to 14.4%. Management reaffirmed full-year guidance of organic sales between down 1.5% and up 0.5%, adjusted operating profit down 8% to 13% in constant currency, and adjusted EPS of $3.00 to $3.20. This was a quarter about trajectory, not magnitude — and the trajectory genuinely improved in some places while deteriorating in others.

WOR Worthington Enterprises, Inc.

Worthington's Data Center Tank Business Quadruples Its Run-Rate — But A2L and Steel Costs Are Eating the Core

Worthington Enterprises opened fiscal 2027 with a clean beat on both lines, reporting adjusted earnings of $0.82 per share against a $0.74 consensus, a 10.8% surprise, on revenue of $343.89 million that topped estimates by 3.5%. Earnings grew 10.8% year over year and revenue grew 13.2%, with roughly 6 points from recent acquisitions and 7 points organic. The more consequential news, however, was not in the headline: Worthington's engineered ASME tanks for data center liquid cooling generated $13 million of revenue in the first quarter alone, matching the entire fiscal 2026 total disclosed on the prior call. That is roughly a four-fold step up in run-rate, and management now expects sequential growth in every quarter of fiscal 2027.

CBRL Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc.

Cracker Barrel Crushes a Low Bar With $0.99, but the Turnaround Still Hinges on Traffic That Never Turned

Cracker Barrel closed fiscal 2026 with an adjusted profit of $0.99 per share against a consensus estimate of $0.20 and an Earnings Whisper of $0.29 — a 241.4% surprise and 33.8% earnings growth versus the $0.74 posted a year ago. Revenue of $849.34 million beat the $831.12 million consensus by 2.2% even as it declined 2.2% from the prior-year quarter. That combination frames the quarter precisely: the profit recovery is real and running well ahead of a badly lowered bar, while the top line is still contracting. The central development, however, is not the size of the beat — it is that management paired it with the first positive comparable-sales guidance in this entire turnaround, calling for fiscal 2027 restaurant comps of +3% to +5%.

KBH KB Home

KB Home Beats by 23.5% but Cuts Q4 Price and Margin as Housing Conditions Deteriorate Since June

KB Home delivered fiscal third-quarter earnings of $1.05 per share on revenue of $1.297 billion, beating the $0.88 consensus by 23.5% and topping the $0.85 Earnings Whisper number, with revenue edging past the $1.29 billion estimate by 0.6%. That is where the good news largely ends. Earnings fell 34.8% year over year and revenue declined 20.0%, and the more consequential development was not the beat but what management said about the last three months: conditions have weakened materially since the June report, forcing cuts to fourth-quarter average selling price and gross margin even as the full-year framework was held intact. That is the central tension of the quarter.

AYTU Aytu BioPharma, Inc.

Aytu's EXXUA Launch Finally Shows Up in the Numbers — But the Legacy Cash Engine Is Shrinking Underneath It

Aytu BioPharma delivered the kind of quarter that transition stories need: a loss of $0.05 per share against a consensus estimate of -$0.22, a 77.3% earnings surprise, and revenue of $16.11 million that beat the $11.55 million consensus by 39.4%. Earnings grew 80.8% year over year and revenue grew 6.4%, ending a string of declining quarters. On a GAAP basis the fiscal fourth quarter was essentially break-even, with a net loss of less than $0.1 million versus a $19.8 million loss a year ago, though that prior-year figure carried $8.3 million of impairment and a $9.9 million derivative warrant charge. The more meaningful signal is that adjusted EBITDA swung back to positive $0.5 million from negative $2.8 million in the third quarter.

AZO AutoZone, Inc.

AutoZone Beats on EPS With Tariff Refund Help — But DIY Comps Turn Negative and Sales Growth Halves

AutoZone delivered fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $56.05 per share on revenue of $6.595 billion, topping the $54.54 consensus and the $54.26 Earnings Whisper by 3.3%, with earnings growing 15.1% year over year. But revenue missed the $6.71 billion consensus by 1.7% and grew just 5.6% — a sharp step down from the roughly 8% pace the company had held all year (+8.4% in Q3, +8.1% in Q2, +8.2% in Q1). That gap between a solid EPS beat and a clear top-line deceleration is the central tension of the quarter, and the composition of the beat makes it more pronounced, not less.

MLKN MillerKnoll, Inc.

MillerKnoll Crushes EPS Estimates on a Tariff Refund While Cutting Its Sales Guide — The Beat's Quality Is the Story

MillerKnoll delivered a headline blowout in its fiscal first quarter, reporting earnings of $0.53 per share against a $0.35 consensus and a $0.37 Earnings Whisper number — a 43.2% surprise and 17.8% year-over-year earnings growth. But revenue of $923.4 million missed the $942.7 million consensus by 2.0% and declined 3.4% from a year ago, and management trimmed its full-year sales outlook. That divergence — a large earnings beat sitting on top of shrinking revenue and a reduced top-line guide — is the central tension of the quarter, and the quality of the beat deserves scrutiny.

HERE Here Group Limited

Here Group's Pop Toy Story Cracks: Revenue Falls Sequentially, Gross Margin Collapses 900bp, and a RMB124M Goodwill Writedown Lands

Here Group Limited (HERE) reported a loss of $0.14 per share on revenue of $18.81 million for the quarter ended June 2026, a result dominated by a RMB124.1 million goodwill impairment tied to the Letsvan acquisition that pushed GAAP net loss from continuing operations to RMB169.6 million. Strip the impairment and share-based compensation out and the adjusted loss was RMB37.7 million, still a meaningful widening from RMB22.9 million in the March quarter and RMB19.3 million a year ago. The headline year-over-year revenue growth of 94.1% is technically accurate but analytically misleading: the year-ago quarter was the pop toy business's first partial quarter following the Letsvan acquisition. The number that matters is the sequential one, and it is ugly.

LEN Lennar Corporation

Lennar's Self-Help Story Keeps Improving — But the Market Turned Against It, and Guidance Went With It

Lennar reported fiscal third-quarter earnings of $1.23 per share on revenue of $8.046 billion, missing the $1.29 consensus by 3.9% and falling short of the $1.28 Earnings Whisper number. Revenue came in 3.4% below the $8.33 billion estimate. Earnings fell 38.5% year over year and revenue fell 8.7%, and management cut its full-year delivery target again — to roughly 80,000 to 81,000 homes from the 82,000 to 83,000 discussed in June, which itself had already come down from an approximately 85,000-home aspiration earlier in the year. Stuart Miller did not dress it up: earnings "were below expectations," and the operating environment "has deteriorated since our last earnings call." That admission, more than the modest headline miss, is the story of the quarter.

IPHA Innate Pharma S.A.

Innate Pharma's Sobi Deal Rewrites the Funding Story — But Phase 3 Enrollment Slipped Again

Innate Pharma reported a loss of $0.24 per share for the second quarter ended June 2026, a figure that is almost beside the point. The number that actually matters in this report is €21.4 million — the cash, short-term investments and non-current financial instruments on the balance sheet at June 30. That is a company operating on fumes. What saves the quarter, and reframes the entire investment case, is what happened after the period closed: the Sobi licensing partnership for lacutamab closed on September 16, triggering a $75 million upfront payment, and an August 18 private placement raised roughly €30 million at €1.70 per share. Together those inflows push the projected cash horizon to the end of the first quarter of 2028, versus the "end of Q3 2026" runway management had reiterated across the three prior calls. Innate went from a matter of weeks of visibility to roughly eighteen months in the span of five weeks.

ALMU Aeluma, Inc.

Aeluma Pivots Hard to AI Datacom as Revenue Shrinks, Losses Widen and FY2027 Guidance Is Withheld

Aeluma reported a loss of $0.22 per share on revenue of $0.58 million for the June 2026 quarter, with revenue down 55.8% year over year and the loss dramatically wider than the $0.05 per share deficit a year ago. Full-year revenue of $4.5 million was essentially flat against $4.7 million in fiscal 2025, but the fiscal 2026 net loss widened to $9.2 million, or $0.52 per share, from $3.0 million, or $0.23, while adjusted EBITDA swung from a positive $186,000 in fiscal 2025 to a $5.2 million loss. The fourth-quarter deterioration was the sharpest part of the picture: adjusted EBITDA fell to a $2.9 million loss versus a $911,000 loss in the March quarter. Research and development expense alone jumped to $2.27 million in the quarter from $165,000 a year earlier, which is the clearest quantification of what management is spending to change the business.

EPM Evolution Petroleum Corporation

Evolution Petroleum Rebounds Sequentially but Misses Consensus as Adjusted Results Slip Into a Loss

Evolution Petroleum delivered the sequential recovery management promised three months ago, but it still fell short of Wall Street's bar. The company reported a loss of $0.02 per share for the fiscal fourth quarter ended June 2026 against a consensus estimate of $0.01, a 300% miss, with earnings down 166.7% from the year-ago quarter. Revenue of $24.21 million grew 14.7% year over year and rose 20% sequentially, driven by a 20% increase in realized equivalent pricing — including a $90.74 per barrel realized oil price, up 49% year over year — partially offset by a 4% decline in average daily production to 6,901 BOEPD. Adjusted EBITDA more than doubled sequentially to $6.5 million from $3.1 million, and operating cash flow improved to $6.8 million from $3.5 million, yet both measures remain below prior-year levels, with adjusted EBITDA down 24% against a year-ago quarter that included a $1.9 million Barnett joint-venture audit credit.

LUXE LuxExperience B.V.

LuxExperience Turns All Three Segments Positive as NET-A-PORTER Breaks Even and FY27 Guidance Points to Acceleration

LuxExperience delivered a loss of $0.04 per share on revenue of $771.7 million for the fiscal fourth quarter ended June 2026, well ahead of the -$0.11 consensus and the -$0.14 Earnings Whisper number, a 71.4% earnings surprise. Revenue beat the $727.39 million consensus by 6.1% and grew 15.7% year over year, while earnings fell 100.8% against a prior-year period inflated by the bargain-purchase gain on the YNAP deal. The more important development is operational: Total Segments net sales rose 7.6% ex-FX to €653.6 million, Adjusted EBITDA reached €13.6 million for a 2.1% margin, and for the first time since the acquisition every segment grew and every segment improved profitability in the same quarter.

ISPR Ispire Technology Inc.

Ispire Technology Delivers First Revenue Reacceleration of Its Turnaround, But Margins Collapse and the Cash-Flow-Positive Target Slips

Ispire Technology reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $0.24 per share on revenue of $26.68 million for the quarter ended June 2026, with earnings improving 7.7% year over year and revenue up 32.5%. The more important number for the turnaround narrative is the sequential one: revenue jumped 43% from the $18.7 million trough in the March quarter, the first genuine reacceleration since the restructuring began. Management called it an inflection point, and the cost side supports that framing — full-year operating expenses excluding credit losses fell 37% to $24.2 million, adjusted EBITDA loss narrowed to $4.0 million from $8.8 million, and full-year operating cash used was just $569,000 versus roughly $7.4 million a year earlier, a $6.8 million improvement. Cash rose sequentially to $19.3 million.

TCOM Trip.com Group Limited

Trip.com Group Beats on Earnings but Growth Collapses to 6% as RMB5.2 Billion SAMR Penalty Drives a Quarterly Loss

Trip.com Group delivered a headline earnings beat that says very little about the quarter's actual trajectory. Non-GAAP earnings came in at $1.07 per share versus the $0.98 consensus and the $0.92 Earnings Whisper number, a 16.3% surprise, with earnings up 5.9% year over year and revenue of $2.308 billion up 20.8%. Investors need to read past the dollar-translated top line: in local currency, total net revenue of RMB15.7 billion rose just 6% year over year and fell 3% sequentially, a sharp deceleration from +17% in the March quarter, +21% in the December quarter and +16% the quarter before that. The gap between a double-digit EPS surprise and single-digit local-currency growth is the central tension in this report.

FPS Forgent Power Solutions, Inc.

Forgent Power Solutions Books a Record $1.5 Billion Quarter and Guides FY27 Well Above the IPO Plan

Forgent Power Solutions closed its first fiscal year as a public company with the strongest quarter in its history, reporting earnings of $0.24 per share on revenue of $461.67 million for the June quarter. That topped the $0.22 consensus but matched the Earnings Whisper number of $0.24, so the print landed in line with the expectations that actually mattered heading into the report. The more consequential news was below the EPS line: revenue grew 94% year-over-year, adjusted EBITDA rose 163% to a record $113 million at a 24.4% margin, net income swung to $66 million from a small loss, and revenue, adjusted EBITDA and adjusted net income all cleared the high end of May guidance — the third straight quarter Forgent has beaten its own raised bar.

Vera Bradley Swings to Profit as Direct Segment Accelerates, but Wholesale Reset Stalls Top-Line Growth

Vera Bradley delivered the quarter that turnaround skeptics were not positioned for, reporting earnings of $0.11 per share against a consensus estimate of a $0.08 loss and an Earnings Whisper number of a $0.02 loss. That is a 650% surprise and 650% year-over-year earnings growth, turning a prior-year non-GAAP loss of $0.02 into real profitability. Revenue of $71.65 million grew 1.1%, the second consecutive quarter of overall growth, and management reaffirmed fiscal 2027 sales guidance of $255 million to $270 million along with the commitment to improve the non-GAAP operating loss by at least 50% versus last year's $21.7 million.

COE China Online Education Group

51Talk Beats Its Own Billings Guidance Again, but Q3 Outlook Signals Near-Flat Year-Over-Year Growth

China Online Education Group, which operates as 51Talk, reported a loss of $0.51 per ADS on revenue of $32.38 million for the June 2026 quarter. Revenue grew 58.8% year over year and the per-ADS loss narrowed by 1.9% from the $0.59 loss a year ago, so the headline numbers still describe a business scaling quickly while inching toward breakeven. The more important operating figure was gross billings of $39.3 million, up 38.1%, which again cleared the high end of the $36 million to $38 million range management gave on the first-quarter call. Active students with attended lesson consumption rose 51.3% to roughly 138,100, and the company generated $4.9 million of net operating cash inflow despite remaining unprofitable on both a GAAP and non-GAAP basis.
